Saturday, January 16 - Lectio Session 1 - Prayer: An Intimate Dialogue

Gentlemen, Welcome Back!

We will continue the theme of prayer in the spring semester by viewing “Lectio” a presentation by Dr. Tim Gray.  Prayer is fundamental to the Christian life because we are created by God for an intimate and everlasting relationship with him. But as Fr. Albert Haase already relayed to us a relationship can’t be built or maintained without ongoing conversation with the other person. Despite how basic prayer is to a life of faith, it is not always easy.  Session 1 of "Lectio," will explore the difficulties we experience in prayer and point us in the right direction of approaching prayer as a conversation.

In this semester we will continue with prayer and petitions at the beginning of each session; however, instead of taking time to ask for petitions a petition sheet will be available to list petitions prior to starting the session at 6:30 a.m.

Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!  Sing praise to him, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!  Glory in his holy name; let hearts that seek the LORD rejoice!  Seek out the LORD and his might; constantly seek his face. Psalm 105:1-4
