Brothers
in Christ,
In
this the fourth Saturday of Lent, we continue discerning the trials and
tribulations of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. In the next four chapters
we witness the death of Padre Pio’s mother, his restriction from celebrating
Mass in public and hearing Confessions, World War II, and the planning stage of
a hospital for the sick after the war. As he ages, and in total disregard
of his sufferings, Padre Pio continues to shepherd the poor, the sick, the
dying, and the lost souls. The mercy he exhibits is but a small portion
of the mercy Christ has for each one of us but the mercy we have in comparison
to his is all to trivial. For the remainder of this Lent I pray that each
one of us may be an example by reaching out to others exhibiting the love of
Christ and his mercy.
Heaven
and Earth may change, but God’s mercy will never be exhausted – St .Faustina
Kowalska
